2021 Chardonnay

Estate-grown fruit from Seville in the Upper Yarra. Barrel fermented (30% new) and matured on lees for 10 months. A very bright green gold. Terrific cool-climate chardonnay from a cool year, with aromas of quince, pear and stone fruits, sitting alongside a little spice from the oak and well-handled gunflint reduction. Elegant and tightly wound, this needs another 3–6 months to fill out and reveal it’s full potential.

2022 Chardonnay

Bright green gold. A touch more open and engaging as a young wine than the 2021, you will find aromas of white nectarines, freshly picked apricots and a little spice and vanillin from the oak, which, I should add, has already been swallowed up by the fruit. The palate is generous yet balanced and restrained and the finish is long and satisfying.

2023 Chardonnay

Estate-grown fruit from Seville in the Upper Yarra. Whole-bunch pressed, barrel fermented and matured in French oak (30% new) for 10 months. Aromas of stone fruits, green apple and lemon sherbet along with a whiff of sea spray. And while the fruit is ripe on the palate, the wine is underpinned by a fine line of acidity that keeps this both structured and focused.
